At Metro Security, we maintain a professional, structured hiring process to ensure our officers are prepared, capable, and aligned with our mission. Below is an overview of what applicants can expect from start to finish.
Candidates begin by submitting an online application. Applications are reviewed to ensure minimum qualifications are met before advancing in the process.
Certain assignments require a Physical Agility Test designed to evaluate a candidate’s physical readiness to safely perform essential job functions. The test consists of the following events:
Qualified applicants participate in a formal oral board interview conducted by Metro Security leadership. This interview evaluates communication skills, decision-making, professionalism, and suitability for the role.
Applicants who successfully complete the interview process may receive a conditional offer of employment, contingent upon completion of remaining pre-employment requirements.
Upon acceptance of the conditional offer, officers are issued approved duty gear and uniforms in preparation for academy training and field operations.
New hires are assigned an academy start date where they will receive classroom instruction and practical training covering policy, legal authority, tactics, report writing, and professional conduct. Our academy lasts around two weeks and is paid.
Successful completion of the academy results in graduation and eligibility to begin field training.
Graduates enter the Field Training Program, working under the direct supervision of experienced Field Training Officers to gain real-world experience and demonstrate competency. Our Field Training Program can last up to 90 days depending on position and is considered the probationary period.
Upon successful completion of field training, officers are cleared for solo duty and assigned to their designated post.
